How it Works
When offenders dwell under a SmartDome, it magically “turns on” with customizable voice down messages and flashing LEDs, simulating active surveillance in progress. Customers receive a welcoming message and take comfort in the heightened level of safety in your stores.
Active Deterrence
When offenders do something suspicious, Active Deterrence turns on and offenders abandon thefts. Indyme’s Active Deterrence technology has “situational awareness”, reacting in real time to theft events in progress. Active Deterrence is designed to stop offenders at shelves and in aisles, before they commit to a theft.
SmartSense Touch - Anti-Sweep Technology
Indyme’s SmartSense Touch devices detect and deter sweep events in progress. A Touch device mounted to a gondola detects the micro vibrations associated with product removal from shelves and peg hooks. Using this tech, Touch devices can detect multiple units removed in rapid succession, indicative of a sweep event.
When a Touch device detects a sweep in progress, it deploys Active Deterrents like triggering a SmartDome to deploy a more aggressive voice down, and optionally notify store associates or LP professionals.
LPRC Research Confirms SmartDome effectiveness
The Loss Prevention Research Council, a leading research institute out of the University of Florida, studied the effectiveness of the SmartDome and Touch devices in operation at CVS. The study validated the effectiveness of the system as offenders, fearful of the Active Deterrence capabilities of the system, abandoned theft of hard to protect cosmetics.
